Service dogs & independence

Canine Companions

Canine Companions provides highly trained service dogs to people with disabilities free of charge. A task-trained service dog can support independence, safety, and daily functioning for people with qualifying physical disabilities and certain psychiatric disabilities. For some people living with disabling anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other conditions, a properly trained service dog may be one helpful part of a broader support plan. Eligibility and available services vary, and emotional comfort alone does not make a dog a service animal.
