How I work

Therapy shaped around the person—not a formula.

I draw from several evidence-informed approaches based on your goals, experiences, strengths, culture, relationships, and readiness for change.

An integrative approach

Different paths can support the same goal: helping you understand yourself and create meaningful change.

These approaches are not rigid programs or labels placed on your experience. We will talk openly about what feels useful, adapt our work as your needs change, and build on the knowledge and strengths you already bring.

01

Narrative Therapy & Solution-Focused Narrative Therapy

You are not the problem—the problem is the problem.

Narrative Therapy explores how experiences, relationships, culture, and the stories we carry influence how we see ourselves. Together, we separate you from the problem, identify strengths that may have been overlooked, and develop a richer story about who you are and where you want to go. Solution-Focused Narrative Therapy also pays close attention to exceptions, existing resources, and the small changes that can begin moving life in a preferred direction.

02

Motivational Interviewing

Change is more sustainable when the reasons for it belong to you.

Motivational Interviewing is a respectful, collaborative approach for exploring uncertainty about change. Instead of pressure or confrontation, we work with your values, concerns, and personal reasons for moving forward. This can be especially useful when part of you wants something different while another part feels unsure, discouraged, or not yet ready.

03

Redecision Therapy

Old conclusions do not have to direct your present life.

Redecision Therapy examines beliefs and decisions that may have developed in response to earlier relationships or experiences. Those decisions may once have helped you feel safe or make sense of what was happening, but they may no longer fit the person you are today. Therapy creates an opportunity to reconsider them and practice new emotional and relational choices.

04

Somatic Therapy

The body can hold information that words alone do not reach.

Somatic work brings gentle attention to physical sensations, breathing, movement, and nervous-system responses. Building awareness of how stress, trauma, and emotion show up in the body can help you recognize activation earlier, increase your capacity to remain present, and develop practical ways to return to a greater sense of safety and regulation.
