Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy

A supported path toward deeper change.

KAP combines psychotherapy with ketamine prescribed and medically managed by Journey Clinical. The process is intentionally structured around preparation, a supported dosing experience, and thoughtful integration.

Important: Rooted Oak provides psychotherapy and session support—not medical evaluation, prescribing, or medication management. Those services are provided by Journey Clinical.

A collaborative care model.

Journey Clinical provides the medical portion of KAP, including evaluation for eligibility, prescribing when clinically appropriate, and ongoing medical oversight. Rooted Oak provides the psychotherapy portion, including preparation, therapeutic support during dosing sessions, and integration afterward. Each provider remains responsible for their distinct role in your care.

More than a dosing session.

Ketamine may create a temporary window in which familiar defenses soften and new perspectives feel more accessible. Psychotherapy helps you prepare for that experience and translate what emerges into meaningful changes in daily life.

The KAP process

  1. Consultation and medical evaluation. We discuss therapy goals; Journey Clinical separately determines medical eligibility.
  2. Preparation. We develop intentions, review expectations, and plan for emotional and physical safety.
  3. Supported dosing. Your therapist offers a calm, private therapeutic setting while you follow your prescriber’s protocol.
  4. Integration. We explore insights, emotions, and next steps while the experience is still fresh.

Who may benefit?

KAP may be considered for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma-related distress, grief, or feeling stuck in established patterns. It is not appropriate for everyone, and participation depends on medical approval and clinical fit.
